The Fire Officer Executive Development Program is designed to help prepare senior company grade fire officers to assume the role of chief officers. The program exposes the participants to the challenges and rigors associated with the chief officer rank. From budget development to strategic planning, the program prepares these officers to begin the transition to that of chief fire officer by demonstrating the Job Performance Requirements specified by the NFPA and Pro Board Accreditation. The program also prepares currently appointed chief officers to assist in the succession planning required for a successful agency by developing newly appointed chief officers and assisting in their transition to chief fire officer.
