This is a highly interactive two-day course. Course material includes a textbook and a companion CD-ROM containing video clips, review questions and answers for self-assessment. Participants will understand the physiology and kinematics of trauma, and improve their rapid assessment, diagnostic and intervention skills when handling adult and pediatric multi-system trauma patients. Participants will apply the principles of PHTLS in the scenario-based skill stations.
This course is co-sponsored and follows the guidelines and standards set by the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT) in cooperation with the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma. This course combines both basic and advanced trauma concepts and skills in one definitive resource. Course material is renewed every 4 years.
Target audience includes First Responders; EMT-B, EMT-I and EMT-P; Physicians; Nurses; and other licensed health care professionals who would benefit from attending this course.
Certification
A successful candidate will receive a provider card and a certificate that remains valid for four years.

None
Textbook required for class will be provided.
For this course, duty uniform or business casual dress is required. The course is classroom based, but certain skill stations may take place outdoors.
