Structural Collapse Rescue Level 2 photo

This 80 hour (NON-PRO BOARD) Structural Collapse Technician (SCT) course will be delivered using the most current FEMA/US&R curriculum. The course meets all requirements of Level II Rescuer based on Chapter 9 NFPA 1006 Standard for Technical Rescuer Professional Qualifications 2013 Edition. The course is lead by FEMA/ US&R Program Nationally endorsed SCT Instructors.  Students will receive instruction on the advanced aspects of structural collapse rescue in both classroom and practical settings, including scenario-based instruction. 

THIS COURSE WILL BE COMPRESSED INTO 7 DAYS, AND AS SUCH, IT IS EXPECTED THAT WILL POSSES SOME ENDURANCE AND STRENGTH TO MAINTAIN THIS PACE. SOME LIMITED KNOWLEGE OF POWER TOOLS, AND A PROFICENCY IN THE USE OF PPE IS ENCOURAGED.

Prerequisite Requirements

All students should meet the requirements of NFPA 1006 2013 Ed. Chapter 5. Since non-Pro Board certified delivery, this requirement is OPTIONAL.

Required Equipment

Students are required to provide and bring to class each day the following:

  • Helmet meeting ANSI rating
  • Gloves
  • Eye protection meeting ANSI rating
  • Steel toed safety shoe meeting ANSI rating

All classes will be held regardless of weather conditions, foul weather gear is the responsibility of the student.
