This 40-hour Pro Board course is designed to train the student in the skills required for certification in Surface Water/Swiftwater Rescue. Skills for the program of instruction are drawn out of the job performance requirements found in Chapters 17 and 18 of NFPA 1006 and meet the requirements of NFPA 1670. Students will receive advanced instruction in surface water/swiftwater rescue in both classroom and practical settings, including scenario-based instruction.

Certification:
Students that successfully complete the program of instruction and pass a written and hands on skills evaluation will receive national certification through The National Board on Fire Service Professional Qualifications (Pro Board).

NFPA 1006, 2021 Edition, Chapter 5.2, Rope Rescue Operations Level
Must be a member of WI-TF1
Textbooks:
Textbooks required for class will be checked out to the student the first day of class and will be returned prior to receiving their certificate. Textbooks can be purchased with advanced notice.
Required Equipment:
Students are required to wear a dry-suit, personal flotation device (PFD), helmet, wet shoes, and wet gloves. All classes will be held regardless of weather conditions, foul weather gear is the student’s responsibility.
Registration:
This training is only for members of WI-TF1.
Meals and lodging will be provided to WI-TF1 members.

WI-TF1 members: You will not pay tuition for this course.
