This week (May 21-24), the REACT Center is conducting a Rope Rescue 2 course at Fort McCoy for the Fort McCoy Fire Department. The skills taught include: high line rope systems, high angle patient movement and pick-offs, and tending a high angle litter.
Today is International Fire Fighters Day....a day of reflection and time to honor and commemorate the lives of firefighters who never returned home from the fire ground. Through loss, hardship and experience, we have learned from those who have come before. IFFD is also a day to honor and remember those who dedicated their lives to protecting their communities, but have since passed on. Let us acknowledge those who paid the ultimate sacrifice. And use this day to thank and honor the commitment, dedication and hard work from current firefighters to ensure that their communities and environment are as safe as possible. THANK YOU to all who serve to protect lives and communities!
May is Military Appreciation Month! Join the REACT Center in honoring the service and sacrifice of members of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, Marines and National Guard as well as the contribution of their spouses.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of Madison Fire Department Firefighter/Paramedic Richard Garner.
On National Vietnam War Veterans Day, we recognize the service and duty rendered by all servicemen and women of this era.
